Outfit Of The Day: CraZy CraZy CraZy till we see the sun!

Not the most formal "outfit of the day", but here is my outfit for New Years Eve:

 Cropped cream knit jumper from Hollister, this jumper is really soft and very comfortable even after washing, it goes with most trousers, shorts, skirts etc and the sleeves are a nice length for my extra long arms.

Black velvet type material shorts from Forever 21, got these in the sale for £4.99 (BARGAIN!), simple design but go great with tights for in the winter and would match most t-shirts in the summer.

Black oversized furry handbag with brown straps, I actually got this bag for Christmas a few years ago from Paul's Boutique (*Cringe* I know), although I am usually against the Paul's Boutique brand while looking on their website for my cousins present I saw this, and unlike most of their products it wasn't luminous green or orange with PAUL'S BOUTIQUE plastered on every square inch, so once removing the weird colourful pom pom keyring it came with you can't even tell where it's from, and quite a lot of people usually comment on how nice it is!

My bracelet is quite "jazzy" with a row of silver sparkly beads in a black thread, my friends mum actually made this for me but you can get them in most places now in most colours for quite cheap prices.

Anyway so that was my New Years Eve outfits, while some people were in pubs getting drunk we went for a rather different approach for seeing in the new year, we ended up putting on the onesies, watching the Alan Carr special, listening to One Direction, eating chocolate, trying on Erin's wardrobe and we even ended up sticking on some fake moustaches Erin got for Christmas.... as you do!

How to get recruited/scouted to work in Hollister or Abercrombie

A lot of people these days want to work in Hollister, Abercrombie or Gilly Hicks beacuse of their cool, young and fresh shop atmosphere and although you can apply through their website or by going into the store and asking the manager, the majority of people who work there tend to of been asked instead applying on their own accord. So as we've both been asked a couple of times to be "store models" (i.e. someone who folds clothes and really just does the general shop assistant type duties not really any modelling involved) we thought we'd put together  5 little tips just to help everyone out.

Tip Number 1: All the shops under the "Abercrombie" company have a certain "look policy" that all store associates have to comply with, they prefer employees to have that natural "California look", this includes looking natural and fresh like you've just walked off of the beach. So when wanting a job and entering the store make sure you have little make up on, all blemishes are covered, no brightly coloured hair (this includes dip dyes or roots showing), a good suggestion would be to have wavy hair, not too messy but also not too neat. Just take a look at the other employees for inspiration. For boys clean shaven!

Tip Number 2: Abercrombie and Hollister etc do not sell the colour black, so if you are looking for a job there I wouldn't arrive wearing head to toe black, instead try wearing the relaxed and preppy type style clothes they sell, but I wouldn't go in wearing all Hollister as this may look a little desperate.

Tip Number 3: Stay in shape, this doesn't mean being stick thin and starving yourself, just be healthy,it's just they only tend to sell clothes in smallerish sizes and if you can't fit in their clothes you are unlikely to get the job, also eating unhealthy can cause spots which will be a disadvantage when looking to get the job.

Tip Number 4: Smile! The people who recruit people to work there are only going to ask people who they would enjoy working with, and the more you smile the friendlier you look so therefore you are more noticeable as a happy person they would want to work with. Also when one of the employees says one of their "cheesy" catch phrases to you at the door, don't ignore them either smile or say hello, this way they are more likely to notice you, and think if you ignore them you could be the most Hollister looking person ever but who would want to work with someone who isn't friendly?

Tip Number 5: If you do get asked make sure to sound friendly to the person who asks you, you never know they may remember you and might lead your interview also turn up to the interview looking casual, natural and fresh faced, also make sure you arrive 10 minutes early just in case as no one likes people who are late.

Don't get upset if you aren't asked, these shops are usually packed with people and sometimes  the employees might not have time to have a good look at everyone shopping (I mean the lights are very low), if you want the job that much just ask to speak to the manager and see what happens, it's only a minimum wage sales assistant job at the end of the day!

Outfit of The Day - Beckyyy

We actually have someone else for the "Outfit of the Day" post today...BECKY DENNIS!!

Her outfit was amazing and I really wanted to steal it to be honest especially the shorts!

My favourite piece were her grey and white, high waisted, vintage chequered shorts which she got from Forever 21 for only £12, I was actually really surprised how nice they were for only £12, might have to go get some :)

Becky's blazer was a black, tailored blazer from Pull & Bear with a gold button at the front and 3/4 length sleeves with turned up ends in light bluey white colour. Being quite tall (5ft 11), having 3/4 length sleeves avoids the problem of having too short sleeves, (good tip there for all the tall people!)

Price: £26

The blouse was a cream colour with a ruffle down the front in the same type material, the blouse is from Hollister and is £38, quite expensive compared to the price of the shorts however Hollister's clothing is always such a good fit and quality you get what you pay for, also it smells really nice when you first buy it (like everything from Hollister), always a bonus!

Becky paired her outfit with black patent flat shoes from Dorothy Perkins for £16 creating a classic and fashionable tailored look!

Still very much jealous of this outfit!

Gilly Hicks Underwear!

I really like Gilly Hicks (known as 'Hollister's cheeky cousin)
 

So it's basically another addition to the Abercrombie & Fitch brand but this one sells underwear. They do sell afew t-shirts and hoodies etc but it is mainly underwear and swimwear! Theknickers are great because they're soft, comfortable, a good fit, and look pretty.

The Australian brand nickname their knickers "Down Undies" and they are usually around £8 or £9 a pairbut the shops often have offers such as "3 for £12" or "5 for£15" which is great! I have about seven pairs, five I bought on an offerfor £15 and two pairs I got free because we went to the store opening inWestfield Stratford in May earlier this year where they were giving them away (we also got loads of pictures withthe lifeguard models)

I also have a Gilly Hicks bikiniwhich I ordered online recently. Usually the swimwear is fairly expensive, andalthough it is good quality and probably worth it, I probably wouldn't pay upto £50-£60 for a bikini which was the value of mine, however I bought it inan online sale, which they don't have too often but I ended up getting thebikini for £15 and a postage offer of £5 (when it is usually £20 postage to theUK!) So I got my bikini for £20 total when it would have been £52! Or £72 if Ihad ordered online at normal postage cost! So I would say order swimwear fromthere in the winter- because I think the reason they were having a sale was toclear out their summer stock. Obviously during the winter and a big sale thereisn't a huge amount of options but I was able to get the style of bikini Iwanted (top and bottoms sold separately) although I had to compromise oncolour, it didn't really bother me that I ended up with a white top and orangebottoms -mix and match bikinis look fine!

The environment in the shop, I think,is really nice but if you don't like Hollister, Abercrombie etc. you wont likeGilly Hicks, it is just like that, mood lighting, floral perfume smell,friendly workers and all that jazz! But anyway, need underwear or swimwear?Forget Victoria's secret and La Senza, TRY GILLY HICKS, oh and their carrierbags are cute!

 

 

 

Hollister...Smell nice for a price?

Some people complain that Hollister is "too dark" and "too expensive" and even that "the music is too loud!" Don't think anyone will ever complain about the smell of Hollister because personally I am addicted to it as you can see :)

Alright the price isn't the cheapest and the bottles aren't the biggest but I honestly think it smells so nice that it's worth it!

The prices range from £22 for a 1.7 FL OZ bottle to £38 for a  2 FL OZ bottle for girls perfume, my favourite being "Sadie" which is pictured below. I really like the flower top on this just purely for the fact that it looks nice if you have it sitting on a dressing table in a bedroom.

I try to save the perfume for weekends because of the price and instead use Hollister's body sprays for every day use. There are 5 different scents you can purchase all at £12 each for 8.4 FL OZ, I love "Crescent Bay Mist" for the pinky colour and the fruity strong scent. Although quite expensive Hollister put on deals quite regularly such as "Buy 2 get the third free" and "2 for £24, 3 for £20" which I thought were great especially the last deal as you actually save money for buying one extra.

Overall I would so recommend the Hollister scents as they have a real exotic and fruity smell which most people love even though the price is slightly on the high side. We are absolutely  addicted to the stuff!
