FOTD: Kate Moss Lipstick

This is my first Face of the Day post, but I always like reading them so I thought I'd give it a go, let me know what you think!

Here is everything I used:

  • E.L.F Complete Coverage Concealer
  • MUA Cover & Conceal
  • Max Factor FaceFinity Foundation
  • L'oreal True Match Powder/ M&S loose powder (I mixed them together in the pot to make a better colour)
  • Sleek Face Contour and Highlight Kit
  • Maybelline Dream Touch Cream Blush
  • Maybelline Mega Plush Volum'Express Mascara
  • Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Eastend Snob
  • Kate Moss for Rimmel Lipstick in 01
  • Smashbox Eyeshadow for Blue Eyes in sabel, cream and mocha

I did my face in a fairly standard way so foundation, blusher, highlighter and contouring (I don't do all of this everyday but I did today)
My eyes are done in neutral colours which is how I've been doing them a lot lately, it seems to suit me most to stick to browns, creams and gold colours
I love wearing different lip colours everyday and today I went for this darkish red colour as I bought it a few days ago. I'd seen many of Zoe (from Zoella) 's videos and she was always wearing a deep red lipstick and I LOVED it, but I never knew what brand it was, but in one video she mentioned Kate Moss' lipsticks for Rimmel in shade 01 and I think that's the one she wears, so I bought it straight away and I am so glad I did!

This is my Face of the Day for today! :)

And erm yeah, that's it then...don't do drugs, stay in school...and all that jazz....!

Review: Soap and Glory: The scrub of Your Life

So for Easter instead of getting an Easter egg from my parents, I got to choose a soap and glory product instead after being completely won over by their amazing facial scrub I purchased earlier this year. After scanning the shelves in Boots I chose "The Scrub of Your Life" (a rather bold statement which in the end it did in fact live up to).  Soap and Glory always manage to smell lovely, look pretty and feel amazing while being affordable and lasting a long time, and this Scrub surely doesn't disappoint.
For £7 for 200ml this product has the quality of more luxurious and expensive body scrubs on the market paired with a very affordable and competitive price.
The thing I love most about this product has to be the smell, it smells almost fruity and sweet and girly all at the same time and after using it you just can't help but embrace how great you smell. The actual scrub is a light pink gel with dark pink small grains inside, the grains give it quite a rough feel although it still feels relaxing and like the scrub is working. After using the scrub my skin was noticeably softer with less dry and flaky skin especially on my knees and elbows, although recommended to use only once or twice a week, I think I'm going to end up using this product every day just so I can smell of that wonderful fruity scent every day!

I would definitely tell anyone and everyone to go and buy this scrub immediately as like the name it is "The Scrub of Your Life"!

Outfit of the Day: Don't stop the party!

Black Peplum Top: Miss Selfridge: £10 sale price
Extra long Black leggings: New Look: £7.99
Black fluffy handbag: Paul's Boutique:

Today's outfit of the day is a more formal/evening look that I very recently wore to my friends birthday meal out. I went for an all black outfit with a black leather jacket, fluffy oversized handbag and worker boots. Wearing all black can transform a rather casual outfit of the same garments from a casual daytime, relaxed look to a night-time, much more formal and sophisticated look, also another bonus to wearing black is that it is said to be one of the most slimming colours.
I love the shape that peplum style tops create, the skirt like frill at the bottom expands at the waist highlighting and drawing the eye to the slimmest part of the main body
The leggings from New Look are mega comfy and come in extra long which suits me perfectly as they actually become too long, although most short people probably won't appreciate how nice it actually is to have trousers/ jeans/ leggings etc that are too long, when you've been wearing trousers that are a few inches too short for years and covering them up with boots, extra long leggings become very exciting!
My bag like I've mentioned in other posts is a limited edition Paul's Boutiques from a few years ago, minus the dodgy luminous key ring, (nicknamed "Jennifur"), this always surprised people as Paul's Boutique doesn't have the best reputation anymore.
I decided to contrast my all black look with Barry M's bright glittery red nail varnish and matching lipstick made by GOSH (shade 60 Lambada), the colour is very bright and usually I don't wear bright lipsticks but it matched the nails nicely and had to be done! Erin borrowed some as well and to be honest I think we totally "rocked it"! :)

Also we managed to get a picture of the 2 of us where we both looked decent, this is actually quite rare for us as one of us is usually pulling some weird pose or has their eyes shut and hair all over the place, so after searching through hundreds of rather disappointing photos we found this. Was a pretty proud moment for us!

Clarins skin illusion foundation review

So this is our first ever make up review post woooo! Today I went out to John Lewis with my mum to get my Christmas present, and I ended up getting make up from the company "Clarins". It is meant to be a really good make up brand and all the reviews I read said it was light and of a good quality, so my mum bought me a liquid foundation and an eyeshadow pallet. I would blog about those however I will have to wait till Christmas, so in the mean time I decided to review the foundation my mum bought.

It's a foundation called "skin illusion" in powder form, and comes in a variety of shades and sizes, we purchased the 13 grams pot for £25.

Although it seems a lot compared to the cheaper range of foundations that you would buy in Boots or Superdrug, the quality is amazing, It covers up blemishes and levels out skin tone leaving a polished effect instead of a matt effect, which my mum preferred. What me and my mum liked most about Clarins foundation in general and was the way it looked and felt natural like you aren't even wearing any.
It also comes with a brush included for the £25 price, the brush is really good and suitably fits the foundation as it collects all the powder meaning none is wasted.

Me and my mum would so recommend this foundation and the whole Clarins range of foundations in general if you are willing to spend a little extra just because of the fact that it feels so light and nice. Also being made out of mineral and plant extracts it is completely natural so shouldn't irritate your skin.

If you are not sure on your skin tone, type and would have trouble choosing the correct foundation online I would definitely consider going into a department shop such as John Lewis or House of Fraser and get the people in there to help you decide and let you test it out!

Website: http://www.clarins.co.uk/

They also do a variety of other products, so go have a look!

Louise
